Artificial Intelligence Demo & Authorship Policy

Artificial intelligence (A.I) has introduced new considerations for songwriters, artists, and music publishers alike. In recent months, we have observed increasing concern within the artist community regarding songs that have been written, co-written or materially altered using A.I. platforms. Many recording artists have expressed a clear preference not to record or release songs that were written or co-written by A.I., or where A.I. substantially shaped the melody, harmonic structure, or core musical composition.

Peck Music Group shares this concern.

Our policy is that we do not represent songs that were written or co-written using artificial intelligence tools.

We recognize that some songwriters use platforms such as SUNO to generate demo recordings. While these platforms may preserve original lyrics, they can significantly influence melody, chord progression, and overall musical structure. In some cases, writers are uploading an a cappella version and allowing the SUNO platform to generate harmonic content. These practices raise legitimate authorship, copyright, and artistic integrity considerations—particularly when pitching to recording artists.

To ensure transparency and protect both the songwriter’s reputation and the integrity of our catalog, the following requirements apply to submissions involving SUNO-generated demos:

  • We must hear the original work audio created by the songwriter prior to any A.I. processing.
  • We require a direct SUNO link to the generated demo (exported audio files will not be accepted).
  • We also require a direct SUNO link showing the original audio that was uploaded to the platform.

We require direct SUNO links because the platform includes date and time stamps. This documentation enables us to verify the chronological order of creation and confirm that the musical composition originated with the songwriter, rather than being reconstructed after A.I. modification.

Our intent is not to discourage creativity or technological exploration. However, we are committed to maintaining clarity of authorship and upholding the standards expected by the artists and organizations we serve.
